Cambodia stays with people. I've sent clients there who described Angkor Wat at sunrise as one of the most powerful experiences of their lives - and I've had clients who were nervous about Southeast Asia and came back wondering why they had left it so long. The country is warm, genuinely welcoming to visitors, and at a pace of travel that encourages you to slow down. The thing I always tell clients before they go is to spend two full days at Angkor, not one. Most itineraries allow one. Two is transformative - the second day you leave the crowds behind and start finding the temples that nobody else is in.

But the real magic lies in how you choose to explore it.

Whether you’re dreaming of temple sunrises at Angkor Wat, peaceful moments on the southern islands or meaningful time in local villages, I can help you create a tailor-made itinerary that’s completely personalised to you. Solo, couple, family or small group, anything is possible.

When you travel this way, you don’t just visit Cambodia. You connect with it.

Why Choose Cambodia?

For travellers craving authenticity, Cambodia strikes a rare balance between awe and intimacy. It’s a country that stirs something in you, whether it’s the serenity of a sunrise, the quiet strength of its people or the unfiltered joy of watching life unfold from a tuk-tuk seat.

It’s perfect for you if you’re asking questions like:
Where can I go that’s different, but not difficult?
Can we find immersive, cultural travel that still feels like a holiday?
Is it possible to go off the beaten track, but with support behind the scenes?

Yes. And Cambodia delivers on all three with heart.

Highlights of a Tailor-Made Holiday to Cambodia

You don’t need to do it all to have a life-changing experience, but here are some unforgettable highlights I can help you include.

Angkor Wat and Beyond.  It’s on every list, but seeing Angkor Wat at sunrise is just the beginning. With a private guide, you can go beyond the crowds to discover quiet, jungle-wrapped temples where the only sounds are birdsong and whispered legends.

Coastal Calm on Cambodia’s Islands.  Koh Rong, Koh Russey and Koh Krabey are small islands with a big impact. Think soft sand, clear water and a slower pace of life. Perfect for unwinding after days of cultural exploring.

Phnom Penh: Stories That Matter.  Cambodia’s capital offers a powerful look into the country’s past. Visiting sites like the Killing Fields and Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum is sobering but essential. It brings context to the kindness and resilience you’ll see throughout the country.

Rural Immersion and Village Life.  Explore rice paddies by bicycle, learn to cook Khmer dishes in a local home or stay overnight in a traditional stilted house. These are not tourist shows. They are opportunities to connect with people and understand Cambodia at its roots.

Wildlife and Waterways.  Venture to the Tonlé Sap Lake to see floating villages or glide along the Mekong in search of rare Irrawaddy dolphins. Whether you prefer kayaking, slow river journeys or eco-lodge stays, the rhythm of the water invites you to slow down and tune in.

Two-Part Escapes: See More, Feel More

One of the best things about holidays to Cambodia is how easily they lend themselves to what I call a Two-Part Escape. This means building a trip with two distinct chapters - one focused on exploration and discovery, the other designed for rest, connection or a change of pace.

When it’s done well, this style of travel gives you the best of both worlds. You experience more, without feeling rushed or overloaded.

Adventure and Relaxation, All Within Cambodia

One of the best things about holidays to Cambodia is how easily they lend themselves to what I call a Two-Part Escape. This means creating a trip with two contrasting chapters - one focused on exploration, the other on unwinding. You experience more without ever feeling rushed.

Adventure and Relaxation Within Cambodia

Many travellers choose to explore Cambodia’s culture and landscapes before finishing with downtime by the coast. A popular flow might be:

  • Part One: Temple-hopping in Siem Reap, food tours, village visits or cultural time in Phnom Penh

  • Part Two: Quiet days on Cambodia’s southern islands, with boutique beach stays and space to breathe

Cambodia Twinned With Another Asian Country

For longer trips or special occasions, Cambodia pairs beautifully with neighbouring destinations. Some popular combinations include:

  • Vietnam and Cambodia: Cruise Ha Long Bay or wander lantern-lit Hoi An before discovering Angkor’s temples

  • Thailand and Cambodia: Combine the buzz of Bangkok or Thai island life with Cambodia’s slower, soulful energy

  • Laos and Cambodia: Ideal for travellers drawn to spiritual sites and untouched countryside

I’ll take care of all the logistics and pacing so each leg of your journey flows seamlessly into the next.

What Makes a Bespoke Cambodia Holiday So Special?

Booking your holiday to Cambodia with me means ditching the package deals and opting for something that’s truly yours.

I don’t just plan routes and hotels. I work closely with trusted local partners who live in Cambodia and know the country inside out. They’re the ones who introduce you to the quiet temples the coach tours miss, the family-run restaurants serving unforgettable meals and the special moments that don’t show up in travel guides.

Their on-the-ground knowledge means your holiday is rooted in authenticity, safety and thoughtful details that make all the difference. You’re not just seeing Cambodia’s highlights. You’re getting to know the country the way locals do.

How I Can Help You Plan the Perfect Cambodia Holiday

This isn’t just another holiday. It’s a chance to feel something new. To understand a culture more deeply. To return home with a new perspective and stories you’ll still be telling years from now.

But it can be hard to know where to start. You want the kind of trip where everything flows and where the details don’t rest on your shoulders.

That’s where I come in.

As a travel advisor who specialises in tailor-made escapes, I’ll help you plan a Cambodia trip that’s seamless, meaningful and completely personal. Whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple, with teens or with a group of friends, I’ll shape your holiday around what matters to you.

Here’s what I take care of:

  • Designing an itinerary that fits your style, from city to coast, temples to untouched countryside

  • Arranging trusted private guides, immersive experiences and meaningful local encounters

  • Managing all logistics, including flights, transfers, accommodation and special touches

  • Supporting you before, during and after your trip, so you’re never left guessing

  • Ensuring everything is protected and safely booked through trusted, secure travel partners

Whether you’re after a peaceful coastal escape after the temples, want your children to experience something eye-opening or simply want to feel confident that it’s all handled, I’m here to help.

This is not just a holiday to Cambodia. It’s your holiday to Cambodia.

Don’t Just Visit Cambodia. Feel It.

There’s a moment on almost every Cambodia trip where something quietly shifts. A monk’s gentle smile, a meal made by hands that have cooked it for generations, a simple walk through a rice field with someone who calls it home.

These are the moments you’ll remember. These are the ones we’ll build your trip around.

FAQs About Cambodia Holidays

Do I need a visa to visit Cambodia from the UK?

Yes - UK passport holders need a visa for Cambodia. You can get an e-visa online before you travel (usually the easiest option) or obtain a visa on arrival at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports. Processing is straightforward, and I'll remind you of the requirement and timelines as part of the planning process.

Is Cambodia safe to visit?

For tourists visiting the main areas - Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville - Cambodia is generally safe and welcoming. The main advice I give clients is to use reputable transport, be careful with bag security in cities, and avoid remote rural areas near the Thai border, where there are residual landmine risks. The FCDO travel advice is always worth reading before you go.

How long do you need for a Cambodia holiday?

Ten days is a good length for a first visit - three nights in Siem Reap for Angkor Wat (more than a day to do it justice), two nights in Phnom Penh, and three to four nights on the coast (Koh Rong or Koh Rong Sanloem are beautiful). Cambodia pairs naturally with a few days in Vietnam or Thailand if you want a longer Southeast Asia trip.

What is the best time of year to visit Cambodia?

November through April is the dry season and the most comfortable time to visit - clear skies, manageable heat, and roads in good condition. November and December are particularly pleasant. The wet season (May - October) brings lush green landscapes and fewer tourists, but afternoon downpours are common and some rural roads become difficult.
